AMPLIFER Section;

1,000 Watts of Peak Power

NAD's T975 is a serious power amplifier for getting maximum fun out of home theater. The seven-channel T975 boasts a HUGE 1,000 watts of peak power that's sure to deliver a peak experience with your favorite film or multi-channel music.

Seven-Channel Monoblock Construction

The T975 employs monoblock construction for each of its seven channels. Except for the power supply, every element of each channel's circuitry is fully independent, eliminating inter-channel influences as a concern. The T975 employs active ground isolation to further eliminate any possibility of inter-channel interference even when more than one preamplifier is driving the power amp (as might be the case in a custom installation).

Each section features an FET 'Class A' input and driver stage circuits, along with a high-current output-stage design, employing high speed, high current discrete output devices to promulgate superb dynamic quality. The result is musical detail, impact, and soundstage stability and depth unmatched by multi-channel amps of even two and three times the T975's price.

Individual gain adjustment for each channel promotes easy, accurate system configuration, as does the T975's integral 12V trigger turn-on response. This multi-channel amplifier delivers its output via heavy-duty "five-way" connectors.

Get a Load of the Power Supply!
As might be expected in an amplifier capable of one kilowatt of continuous power output, the power supply has been very carefully designed. NAD's toroidal transformer offers its superior regulation and low stray magnetic field. The company's exclusive "Holmgren" transformer design uses a special core design and materials to enhance efficiency and make the transformer less sensitive to DC offsets on the AC mains voltage. Over 80,000 uF of storage capacitance ensure an ample reserve of power for even the most demanding music and film soundtracks.
PREAMP Section;

Upgraded Model with Modular Design for Easy Future Upgrades

The NAD T 175 AV tuner preamplifier boasts full High Definition surround sound decoding along with NAD's innovative approach to upgrading, known as Modular Design Construction (MDC). Advanced features include Audyssey Auto Setup and Calibration of all speaker settings, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio lossless surround sound decoding, cross conversion of all analog video formats, analog video to HDMI conversion, HDMI 1080p output, and much, much more.

It is NAD's insistence on creating products with remarkable sound quality at sensible prices that has made NAD the first choice among the most knowledgeable listeners from around the world.

NAD's 'Music First' philosophy dictates that the company endows its AV products with the same warm, involving sound quality that makes music listening so rewarding with its stereo components. This stands in stark contrast to our competitors who view AV components primarily from a 'content' point-of-view, with sound quality far down the list of priorities. Yet the T 175 is second to none in terms of flexibility and up-to-the-minute digital technology.

Modular Design Construction

NAD has developed a unique new (MDC) architecture that keeps pace with the fast changing world of digital formats by allowing connectivity and feature upgrades as new technology becomes available. This prevents premature obsolescence by keeping pace with the latest developments in high performance audio and video formats. Dealer-installed hardware and software can add new connectivity and features at a future date, allowing your T 175 to grow as your needs and tastes develop. Most AV tuner preamplifiers require complete replacement with a new model to get the latest features. With NAD you only replace the module you want to upgrade - not the entire AV tuner preamplifier!

Audyssey Auto Speaker Calibration

Automatic Audio Setup is available using the supplied calibrated microphone. Simply place the microphone in the listening position and select Audyssey Auto Calibration and the system automatically detects which speaker is connected, chooses the ideal crossover point to the subwoofer, checks speaker phasing, and adjusts the levels and delays. These adjustments are made to a level of accuracy that it would be difficult to duplicate by ear alone.

Audyssey MultEQ XT

Audyssey MultEQ XT is the latest in digital sophistication, allowing for improved frequency response in a large "family sized" sweet spot. Using the calibration microphone to "hear" your room, a series of test tones measure the speakers' response and the room's distorting echoes independently, and then calculates an ideal response that minimizes the effects of the room's echoes.

While this sounds simple, the digital technology that is required for this level of performance would have cost many thousands of dollars just a few short years ago. But the electronic technology is only half the story, since an advanced knowledge of acoustics is also required to get good results from such a system. Working closely with Audyssey, NAD's acoustic engineers developed the final response curves that reflect our own performance values.

Audyssey Dynamic Volume and Dynamic EQ work together to address the problem of large jumps in volume when switching between different TV channels or when advertisements are inserted into the program.

Dual Core Floating Point DSP Technology

Using the latest Dual Core Floating Point DSP technology, NAD was able to include the newest lossless HD surround formats from Dolby and DTS, as well as standard surround sound formats and NAD's own highly regarded music surround mode - EARS. The EARS circuit (Enhanced Ambient Recovery System) is now optimized for 7-channel surround. Unlike the typical artificially enhanced DSP modes like 'Club', 'Stadium', and 'Church', EARS uses DSP technology to extract the natural ambience of the recording. This is redirected to the surround channels to create natural surround sound from any 2-channel source. This induces a warm natural reverberant effect without the hollow 'BOING' of artificial reverb.

The surround mode of the source material is automatically detected via the digital inputs of the T 175 and the most advanced form of decoding is switched in. Conversion of the encoded digital bitstream is performed with high resolution and extremely linear D/A Converters carefully selected for their performance capabilities.

Video Performance

The T 175 features NAD's newly developed HDMI repeater featuring Sigma's VXP Image Processor. Both analog and digital video sources can be selectively processed using Sigma's advanced VXP algorithms. This is the best performing image processing engine NAD could find, and the T 175 is the lowest priced AV tuner preamplifier on the market featuring this advanced technology.

The new VXP video board features video conversion to resolutions as high as 1080p and supports all SD and HD formats up to 2048 x 2048 pixels. Motion adaptive de-interlacing with edge interpolation eliminates the jagged edge effects common in lesser image processors. Film mode detection with output cadence generation endows the video picture with a film-like smoothness of motion. The programmable scaling engine also allows for aspect ratio conversion to perfectly match the video source with the video display. Advanced noise reduction and detail enhancement improve legacy analog video sources to near HD quality.
