Digital projectors with resolutions of 1920 x 1080 pixels are easily capable of producing an image 100" or larger. These large and brilliant screen images bring the cinema experience directly into the home. There is an increasing amount of high resolution material available from broadcasters via satellite, cable, and digital over-the-air signals. For the true cinema lover, movies can be screened using either the HD-DVD or Blu-Ray disc format.

One of the last technical issues attenuating the true movie experience at home was the ability to display the ultra-wide, 2.35:1 Cinemascope® type image.
